I heard Mavado’s “Neva Believe U” for the first time a couple of months ago (on my birthday coincidentally) afterDiplo twittered ”everyone check out Mavado - NEVA BELIEVE U .. straight up some tear for fears 80s vibe .. the way he sings..his adlibs and the beat—JAMMIN.”
That was enough for me, and I picked it up. Like many of us, things need to sit for a little while. Since that point (about a week typically, I don’t remember in this instance) I have listened to the song at least once a day. People inherently shy from getting into dancehall initially I find, but once it sticks its stuck. This song will stick.
