Trading places with Youngjun Koo

Allow me to play ‘dress-up’ for just a moment… though this was just before going to work. Fortunately my job has both given a necessity to suit wearing and the ability to buy one. What we’re working with:

Linen 2 piece suit by N. Hoolywood, Scarf by Junya Watanabe, Shirt by Thom Browne, Hat by Stetson (vintage)

The afternoon line.

I love this information page on The Almighty Gaylords, one of Chicago’s most famous street gangs. Firstly– I have always been pretty obsessed with street gangs, secondly, the page is done in that awesome late-90s-early 2000s-Geocities style. The only annoying thing is that pulling images is a pain because of the heavy use of shockwave.. In any case, have a look– at least for the reference items: gang photos, graffiti, clothing, business cards!

Thanks Junya Watanabe, for this nice coat, and Adam Katz Sinding, for the detail photos.

Standard BDU Jacket– my standard this year (placed strategically alongside previous year’s favorites: Barbour, Letterman/Pendleton). Yours?

I hardly blinked when I saw these for sale online the other day, a pinnacle piece from his F/W 2009 collection, brand new Junya Watanabe ‘work-brogues.’ They weigh ten pounds each, and are hardly the comfort of red wings– but I’d be damned if they aren’t some of the finest pieces of footwear I’ve ever seen..
